Our ultimate aim is for disadvantaged and disengaged young people to find and keep a good job. We help young people to recognise their worth and potential; focus on building the skills for success; and develop a clear vision and plan to achieve sustained employment and a bright future.

Our Derby centre opened in October 2015 and has been making an immediate and ongoing impact in the city, having worked with over 250 young people, creating many examples of how young people can succeed against the odds with the right help. The staff and volunteers have developed a great learning environment, and work very well with other partner agencies throughout Derby and the surrounding villages.

Our programmes are employability-focused; we teach work-ready skills and attitudes in addition to functional skills. To bring the curriculum to life, we work with a number of local businesses who kindly provide their time to support with the facilitation of skills workshops (e.g. mock interviews, CV writing), provide company tours and engage in networking lunches. In addition, many go even further and commit to mentoring a young person on a one-to-one basis for up to a year.
